Harken Radial Electric Self Tailing Winch
Harken Radial Line winches have successfully balanced the need for a secure grip and line longevity with smooth, controlled easing while under load. Details sailors will appreciate: smaller winches that carry higher loads and stress-free seasonal maintenance.
Energy-efficient motors accomplish more work per unit of electricity consumed. Motors attach to central drive shaft and drive through winch gears for two-speed mechanical advantage.
Harken are revered throughout the yachting world as longstanding champions of design and production excellence.
Harken offer a classic style or the technical Radial® concept to attract both racing and cruising sailors.
Harken winches make a massive contribution to sail handling efficiency and consequent crew safety, comfort and pleasure e.g.
- Smaller winches that carry higher loads
- Stress-free seasonal maintenance
- Single person installation
- Simple upgrades to power
- Super strong composite roller bearings and bushings to reduce friction under load
- Load bearing gears and pins from 17-4 PH stainless steel for strength and corrosion resistance
- Patented angle of ribs on the radial drum to drive the wraps of line down for optimum safety and control.
Activated remotely by twin in/out buttons, the Rewind Radial lets you safely ease and trim highly loaded sails in both directions without ever taking the line out of the self-tailer, a patented feature. Like all electric Radials, the Rewind operates like a normal Harken two-speed electric winch. A simple flip of the red knob on the winch base turns on the rewind feature. A spring-loaded arm of investment-cast stainless steel funnels and keeps line captive as it feeds in and out of the self-tailer while you adjust the sail under fingertip control.
Each electric winch requires one control box, one circuit breaker, and two analog switches or one Digital System Switch. All new electric Radial and Performa electric winches are supplied with the appropriate dual-function control box. For replacement or retrofit control boxes, contact Harken.
