Maximum power point (MPPT) solar charger controllers from Victron Energy.

SmartSolar charge controllers include Bluetooth for wireless communication with smartphones or tablets.

Blue Solar charge controllers do not have Bluetooth. They can be retrofitted to have Bluetooth by connecting the VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle.

Sizing options:

  • Suitable for a variety of battery voltages. Most models connect to 12, 24, and 48V batteries, some only connect to 12 and 24V batteries, or only to 48V batteries.
  • Charge currents rating from 10A all the way up to 100A.
  • Maximum PV array Voc voltages ranging from 75V up to 250V.
  • Multiple chargers can be used in parallel, for large systems we recommend to use the models with a VE.Can communication port.

In the MPPT model names, for example MPPT 75/50, the first number is the maximum PV open circuit voltage. The second number, 50, is the maximum charge current.


Victron Blue Solar Charge Controller MPPT 75/10, 75/15,100/15 & 100/20

These Victron Blue Solar Charge Controllers support a PV input with a maximum open circuit voltage of 75V or 100V respectively and have a maximum output of 20A. They work with and will automatically recognise 12V and 24V battery systems, except the VBS-MPPT100/20-48 which can be used with 12, 24 or 48V systems.

Victron SmartSolar Charge Controller MPPT 150/70 up to 250/100 VE.Can

These are like the SmartSolar Charge Controller MPPT but include CAN bus ports.

This allows for communication with additional VE.Can SmartSolar chargers. The additional units are simply “daisy chained” to each other with a single RJ45 cable between the individual units.

When connected to each other, all individual VE.Can SmartSolar chargers, will synchronise their charge stages. They can also send their data, via a single cable, to a GX monitoring device.

This Victron SmartSolar Control Display is a retrofittable LCD display for Victron's SmartSolar Charge Controllers. Simply remove the rubber seal that protects the plug on the front of the charge controller and plug-in the display.

Victron SmartSolar MPPT RS

The MPPT RS SmartSolar is a 48V Solar charge controller with up to 450VDC PV input and either 100A, or 200A output. It is used in on-grid and off-grid solar applications where maximum battery  charging power is required.

  • VE.Can and VE.Direct port. For connection to a GX device for system monitoring, data logging, and remote firmware updates. VE.Can allows for up to 25 units to be connected together in parallel and synchronize their charging.

Victron wall mount enclosure for BMV or MPPT Control

This Victron wall mount enclosure enables you to surface mount the Victron BMV battery monitor or MPPT Control charge controller display. Surface mounting makes installation much simpler and quicker rather than panel mounting where you need to recess the product.

Victron Smart Battery Sense

Smart Battery Sense is a wireless battery voltage and temperature sensor for Victron MPPT Solar Chargers to improve charging-efficiency and prolonging battery life.

By measuring voltage at the battery bank terminals, errors arising from voltage-loss due to cable resistance are avoided - guaranteeing the correct charge-voltage.

For lead batteries, battery temperature data is used to adjust the charge-voltages: cold batteries require an increased charge-voltage, whereas hot batteries require a decreased charge-voltage. For lithium batteries temperature data is used to disable charging when they are too cold: charging lithium batteries near or below freezing causes permanent damage to the cells.

The connection between Smart Battery Sense and one or more Solar Charger(s) is wireless: It uses VE.Smart Network - a wireless technology based on Bluetooth Smart.

Information transmitted can be used simultaneously by one, two or more Solar Chargers connected to the same 12V, 24V and 48V battery bank. The Smart Network is set up using the VictronConnect app.

Installation is simple, quick and tidy. Just connect the unit's two eyelets to your battery terminals and attach the Smart Battery Sense unit directly onto the battery-body using its self-adhesive strip.

  • not needed in systems which are already controlled by a Color Control GX or Venus GX
  • For installations using a BMV-702 together with its optional temperature sensor accessory - for wireless connectivity consider adding a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle instead of a Smart Battery Sense.
